Postcards and Margin Notes
Chords updated! BayCon planned!
We performed 'Mario's Lament' live at Boskone, where Ben was kind enough to tweak the chords into something even closer to the original thematic reference (and you know what that is). The songbook has been updated to reflect his changes.
So I'm once again doing a concert at BayCon, the Bay Area's largest and longest-running general science fiction convention! (I was their Toastmistress in 2007, and wasn't that an awesome time?) I'll be joined by Paul Kwinn and some fabulous others. My frequent co-conspirators, Michelle Dockrey and Tony Fabris, will also be giving a concert, and it would be awesome if you could drop by and see us all!
Whee!
Hey, look! Website updates!
The behind-the-scenes elves (read also, 'Chris') have been hard at work (read also 'hitting me with sticks until I actually turned in text and graphics') to get the website all shiny and new for your perusing pleasure. While the basic design remains the same -- I continue to adore my orange and green theme of subtle pumpkin-y goodness -- we have some awesome new content for you to enjoy.
First off, we've made some changes to the front page, updating it with the latest appearance information and long-term news. (Remember, this is where we put the items that we don't want to have slide out of the site news bar just because Lilly does something cute that I feel the need to share.)
Over in the Pretty Little Dead Girl suite of pages, the final items have been added to both the Featured Artists page and the Dramatis Personae page, bringing these two bits of history to a glorious conclusion. Hooray! Learn about the people on the album and the people they were singing about, in all their fully illustrated, fully annotated awesomeness! Buckets of win, right here for your enjoyment.
Turning our attention to a slightly different album -- namely, Stars Fall Home -- we find a new page in the 'Behind the Music' section. Is it? Yes! It's the hidden story of 'Evil Laugh'! (Give you a hint: dinosaurs eat people.) Illustrations coming soon.
Just to complete our triptych of updates for the day, here's the latest on Red Roses and Dead Things: I've confirmed a recording date for Tuesday, February 26th, on which I'll be laying down the lead vocals for 'The Black Death' and 'What A Woman's For' (album version). We'll be scheduling the photoshoot to go along with the album for sometime in April, Cat and Amanda's schedules allowing.
And that's the news!
Join Seanan at Conflikt II!
Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure, delight, and honor to announce, with stunned amazement still bright in my eyes, that I will be attending Conflikt 2009, where I will be giving another concert...but this time, it'll be on Saturday night, instead of Friday.
And this time, I'll be doing it as their Guest of Honor.
I'm going to be the Guest of Honor at Conflikt 2009. Conflikt is the Pacific Northwest's very own filk convention, and the first one was an astonishing success.
You know what this means.
BIGGEST KITCHEN PARTY EVER!!!!!!!
Hope to see you all there.
