Spiders To Weave

Give me coyotes to sing up the sky,
For their voices are suited to labor.
Teach them to question and teach them to lie
If you would curry my favor.

Give me coyotes to scatter the stars
Across all the heavens unfurled.
Give me coyotes to suture time's scars,
And spiders to weave the world.

Give me black ravens to kindle the sun,
For their cunning is suited to thieving.
Teach them to struggle and teach them to run,
If you would keep me believing.

Give me black ravens to light up the day
And into the teachings be swirled.
Give me black ravens to color the way,
And spiders to weave the world.

It's simple enough to weave silk into webs,
But it's harder to weave webs from dreams.
Only the spiders are cunning enough
To keep us from seeing the seams...

Give me red foxes to nurture the trees,
For their nature is suited to caring.
Teach them to whisper and teach them to please
If you would dare to be daring.

Give me red foxes to grow the world green
And all through the forests be twirled.
Give me red foxes to make the land clean,
And spiders to weave the world.

It's simple enough to weave silk into webs,
But it's harder to weave webs from dreams.
Only the spiders are cunning enough
To keep us from seeing the seams.

It's simple enough to weave silk into webs,
But it's harder to weave webs from dreams.
Only the spiders are cunning enough
To make the world just as it seems.
